In a matchup of NFL Picks going in opposite directions, the Dallas Cowboys take to road and visit the “Motor City’s” Detroit Lions in Week 14 action. The Dallas Cowboys come into this one riding high as they clinched the playoff spot and more than likely home field advantage with a big win over the Green Bay Packers. The win put them at 11-1 SU overall, good for their best start in the storied history and a two game lead over Green Bay for home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
It’s becoming the norm, but Dallas QB Tony Romo had another good game as he drove the Cowboys to two field goals and three touchdowns on their first five possessions. Romo finished the night completing 19 of 30 passes and four touchdowns. The running back tandem of Barber and Jones chipped in with 107 yards on 26 carriers. The usually stout Dallas running defense gave up 97 yards to Green Bay running back Ryan Grant. Apparently the general public believes that Detroit is not going to be competitive in this one as Sportsbetting.com has Dallas listed as a hefty 10.5 point favorite.
Once one of the high flyers in the NFC the Detroit Lions come into this one reeling as they have lost 4 in a row putting them at 6-6 SU overall and in danger of not even making the playoffs after a great start to the season. Over the last four weeks the Lions have looked more like the NFL team who has compiled the most losses out of any team over the last six seasons. You wouldn’t have thought that Detroit was in a fight for a playoff spot as they came out flat again. Jon Kitna had to put the ball in the air again as the Detroit running game was no match against the top ranked rushing defense in the league compiling a pathetic 23 yards. Kitna finished the day 27 of 36 for 260 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Detroit is an underdog for the third straight time at home and are 0-2 ATS the previous two time, however they are 5-3 ATS as a home dog the last 8 times under Rod Marinelli. Dallas comes in a perfect 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS on the road .
Detroit has given up an average of 31.5 PPG during it’s current losing streak and will be facing a Cowboys team that leads the NFC with 32.9 point per game. Do they really have a shot?
