Week 14 brings the Minnesota Vikings into San Francisco 49ers on a three game NFL Picks winning streak. Starting QB Tarvaris Jackson is coming off one of the best games last week as he completed 18 of 24 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Over the past three weeks, Jackson has completed 77.6 percent of his throws with three TDs and two interceptions. WagerWeb.com has the Vikings as a hefty -8.5 point favorite.
The 49ers have been good hosts if you the opposing team as they have lost four in a row at Monster Park and are in the midst of their longest home losing streak since losing five straight from Nov. 7-Dec. 26, 2004. After a promosing 2-0 start to the season San Francisco has lost nine of 10 overall and sit at 3-9 SU on the year. Last week Trent Dilfer completed 14 of 29 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns, but threw four interceptions. Dilfer is expected to make his fourth straight start in place of the injured Alex Smith and will be fortunate to face a Minnesota pass defense that allows a league worst 278.8 yards per game..
Minnesota leads the NFL with 5.6 yards per rushing attempt and unfortunately for 49ers’ fans they are only 1-6 ATS in their L7 versus teams who gain over 5.0 yards per rush. However to counter that Minnesota is a horrible 4-18 ATS in their L22 versus teams who average only 5.7 yards per passing attempt during the second half of the season.
