The Dolphins (6-6) (5-1 V) lost to Cleveland 10-13, at home, in Week 13 and sit third in the AFC East, three back from the NY Jets. QB Chad Henne made 16 of 32 passes for 174 yards with one TD and three interceptions. RB’s Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown combined for 98 yards, while WR Davone Bess made six catches for 67 yards. TE Anthony Fasano made four catches for 41 yards with a TD. Their defense had two sacks and no interceptions. Miami ranks last in the AFC in scoring, and a so-so ground game is part of the problem. Neither Williams nor Ronnie Brown has had a 100-yard game this season. Ricky Williams believes the Dolphins would run the ball better if they ran it more and he believes the Wildcat offense has to make a comeback. Last season, the package featuring Brown and Williams averaged 4.7 yards per play and 28 per game; this season, the averages are 3.0 per play and 12 per game. "We just haven't run it enough," Williams said. "I don't think we've called it enough in games. I don't think we've run it enough and worked on it in practice enough to make it a big part of our offense." Anthony Fasano had four touchdowns against the Jets — his highest total vs. any opponent. The Dolphins are ranked 19th on offense (336ypg) with a 16th ranked pass game (229ypg) and an 18th ranked ground game (106ypg). They score the 29th least amount of points per-game (17.9ppg).The Dolphins go up against the Jets eighth ranked defense (305ypg), their 14th ranked pass rush (218ypg) and the NFL’s third best ranked rush defense (87.5ypg). The Jets defense allows the sixth least amount of points per-game (19.3ppg).

The Jets (9-3) (4-2 H) lost badly in New England 3-45, in Week 13, and sit second in the AFC East, one game back from New England. QB Mark Sanchez completed 17 of 33 passes for 164 yards with no TD’s and three interceptions. Sanchez threw his 11th interception; in his last seven games he has eight TD’s but 11 interceptions. RB Shonn Greene had 13 carries for 64 yards, while WR Santonio Holmes made seven catches for 72 yards. Their usually strong defense managed three sacks and no interceptions. This loss was one game that left New York wondering exactly whether the coach and his defense, whether the coach and his young quarterback, whether the coach and his team, were Rexposed as championship pretenders. But, “We’re far from pressing the panic button,” Ryan said yesterday. He must restore his team’s belief and swagger immediately for the final stretch run. He must fix the defense and fix Mark Sanchez’ confidence. Speed rusher Cameron Wake will get to Mark Sanchez and if Sanchez is pressure to throw, you can chalk up some more interceptions. Wake leads the NFL with 12 sacks. This could be a difficult day for the Jets to run the ball. Will L.T. slow down in December? Brad Smith is third in the NFL with a 27.6-yard kickoff return average. The Jets offense is ranked 12th overall (355ypg) with a 21st ranked pass game (207ypg) and the NFL’s fourth best running game (148ypg). They score the 14th highest amount of points per-game (22.2ppg). Braylon Edwards leads the Jets offense with six TD’s. The Jets face the Dolphins fourth ranked defense (300ypg), their fifth ranked pass rush (201ypg) and their ninth ranked rush defense (99ypg). The Dolphins give up the 11th least amount of points per-game (19.8ppg).
