Looking at the NFL lineup for Week 15, there are four double digit favorites on the board worth looking at. From the early betting action numbers, if these favorites don’t have another big weekend, it could spell for trouble for bettors, who are heavily putting their NFL picks behind these four favorites.
Hosting the Indianapolis Colts the Oakland Raiders are 4-9 straight up (5-8 ATS) this season, they are miles ahead of the team that took to the field last year, as that team finished 2-14 (6-10 ATS).
The team has doubled its regular season win total and is on pace to better its ATS numbers as well, but despite the improved play, the Raiders are still a team in serious rebuilding mode.
The Colts are feeling heat from the Jacksonville Jaguars for the AFC South lead but Indy is up two games and a game against Oakland should add to that lead.
SportsBetting.com has the Colts listed as the 10½-point road fav and the betting public is wagering on Indy at an 85% clip.
Traveling to San Diego to face the Chargers the Detroit Lions will be coming off a dissapointing loss against the Dallas Cowboys. It really looked like the Detroit Lions had turned things around earlier in the season.
In November, Detroit was a very respectable 6-2 SU (5-2-1 ATS) and looked like they would push Green Bay for the NFC North division lead, but just like a lead zeppelin (not the band) the Lions have plummeted back to earth dropping their last five SU and going 1-4 ATS.
Still alive but badly needing to get back on track in a hurry, last week’s game against the Cowboys, where Detroit lost 28-27 thanks to a last minute TD pass, cost the Lions a potentially season saving win (although Lion-backers cashed a ticket as they were big dogs).
The Lions will be hard pressed again this week to pull off a straight up win against a San Diego Chargers team that has rattled off three in a row both SU and ATS. But the betting public likes tthe Detroit Lions as a 10-point underdog , feeling they can hang in there with the Chargers. Detroit is receiving 60% of all the wagering volume in this matchup.
The Eagles are on life support in the playoff race and if they want to have any hope of making it to the post season they will have to run the table.
They’ll be in tough this weekend as they face NFC best Dallas with its 12-1 record straight up and 9-4 record ATS.
The Cowboys covered as a 3-point favorite in a 38-17 win in their last meeting with Philadelphia and this time around Big D is favored by 10-points with a 90% majority of the bets going to Dallas.
What a difference a year makes. Last year the Chicago Bears were looking to clinch home field advantage for the entire NFC playoffs.
This year, much like the Eagles, the Bears will have to win out the rest of their games if they want a shot at the post season and also like Philly, will face a hot division rival this week.
While not nearly as potent as Dallas, the Minnesota Vikings seem to be a team that is getting hot at the right time going 4-0 SU and ATS in their last four.
The players at SportsBetting.com like what they see with this Viking team right now, as they are backing the 10-point favorite at a clip of 80%.
