NFL Picks: Washington Redskins vs New York Giants

by Alexander Banks on Sunday, December 16th, 2007

In a Week 15 prime time matchup the New York Giants look to continue their winning NFL Picks as they host the Washington Redskins.  The Giants who for the most part have been forgotten due to the seasons that both Dallas and Green Bay have put together quietly come into this game at 9-4 winning nine of 11 since opening the season with consecutive losses to the Cowboys and Packers.  In fact, New York needs only to win once in its final three games to grab the top wild card spot in the conference.  Although the Giants have won nine of 11 their offense has really struggled as they have scored two touchdowns or fewer in five of their last six games while QB Eli Manning has thrown five touchdown passes and eight interceptions in those games.  Last week Manning was 17 of 31 for 219 and one touchdown.  The running back duo of Jacobs and Droughns combined for 104 yards on 25 carries.  The Giants will need to overcome being a favorite as Sportsbetting.com has them as a -4.5 favorite.

The Redskins kept their small playoff hopes alive while ending a four-game losing streak last week when they beat the Chicago Bears 24-16.  Unfortunately for the Redskins in this game lost starting quarterback Jason Campbell for the rest of the season because of a dislocated kneecap which has forced them to turn to veteran Todd Collins.  If last week was any indication it might not be as bad as you think as he led four scoring drives in the win over the Bears throwing two touchdown passes and completed 15 of 20 for 224 yards with no interceptions.  This week he might not be as successful as he will be facing Giants defense who ranks seventh in the NFL in total defense allowing 302.8 yards per game and leads the NFL with 47 sacks.

The Giants will be hoping that they home crowd can help them to victory but strangely enough the Giants has played better on the road going 3-3 SU & ATS at home in this season and is only 4-7 SU & 3-7-1 ATS in their L11 overall. In fact, in the second half of the L2 seasons, they are 0-6 ATS at home.  To counter the favorite is 11-4 SU & 10-5 ATS the L15 games played in New York.

There are a number of games in this weeks action that present some good profit opportunities.  Michael Alexander is all over these matchups and has your GUARANTEED profits at Alexandersports.
