The Saints (6-8, 2-5 V) recorded their first shutout since 1995 in a 41-0 home victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Sunday. QB Drew Brees passed for 307 yards and four touchdowns. Brees connected on his scoring passes with TE David Thomas, RB Darren Sproles and WR’s Lance Moore and Joe Morgan. RB Mark Ingram added an 11-yard touchdown run.

The Cowboys (8-6, 4-3 H) beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-24, at home, in Week 15. QB Brandon Carr intercepted a pass from Ben Roethlisberger to set up Dan Bailey’s 21-yard field goal in overtime for the win. The Cowboys won a Bailey kick on the final play for the second week in a row as they moved into a three-way tie for the NFC East lead with the New York Giants and Washington Redskins.

The Saints 3rd ranked offense (397ypg), 2nd ranked pass game (298ypg) and 24th ranked ground game (99ypg) goes up against the Cowboys 14th ranked defense (340ypg), 14th ranked pass rush (225ypg) and 15th ranked rush defense (115ypg). The Saints score the 4th most points per-game (27.8ppg) while the Cowboys give up the 21st least (24.1ppg).

The Cowboys 8th ranked offense (375ypg), 4th ranked pass game (294ypg) and 31st ranked ground game (80ypg) goes up against the Saints 32nd ranked defense (433ypg), 31st ranked pass rush (287ypg) and 31st ranked rush defense (146ypg). The Cowboys score the 15th most points per-game (23.4ppg) while the Saints give up the 27th least (27.1ppg).
