The New York Giants just can’t seem to win at home these days and will look in Week 16 to again clinch an NFL Picks playoff spot when they go back on the road to take on the Buffalo Bills. Strangely the Giants have lost three in a row at home and have won six straight away from Giant Stadium. It’s important that they win this week to clinch their playoff spot as a loss with pin their playoff hopes on beating the New England Patriots in the final game of the season next week at home. Unfortunately for the Giants they also lost starting TE Jeremy Shockey to a broken leg. His replacement Rookie Kevin Boss has only five catches this season. QB Eli Manning continued his inconsistent play last week against the Washington Redskins as he was only 18 of 52 for 184 yards. The Giants running game seem to gain momentum however as RB Brandon Jacobs ran for 130 yards. SportsBetting.com has the Giants a favorite on the road at -3 points.
The Buffalo Bills come into this one after being eliminated from the playoffs last week when they lost 8-0 to the Cleveland Browns in blizzard like conditions. It was the Bills first shutout since 2003. With the weather as bad as it was the Bills had to rely on their running game. RB Marshawn Lynch did an admirable job as he rushed for 82 yards on 21 carries. But it was only half of opposing running Jamal Lewis did for the Brown as the Bills allowed him to run for 163 yards. Although you can probably blame the weather for most of the problems passing the Bills defense were able to hold Cleveland QB Derek Anderson to only 137 yards passing.
As stated earlier, New York has been much more comfortable on the road going 6-1 SU & 5-2 ATS in this season. In contrast the Bills have been very good at home going 4-3 SU & 6-1 ATS. To add more problems for the Giants head coach Juron’s teams have gone 13-1 ATS when hosting out of conference opponents
Up to last week the Bills were in the hunt for a playoff spot so it will be interesting to see if they bring in an attitude to play well enough to cause the Giants some playoff heartburn.
