The Cleveland Browns host the Oakland Raider, Sunday Dec 27, as the Browns look for three straight wins. The Browns have won six of the last eight, but the Raiders won their last meeting. NFL oddsmakers at BETUS.com have the Browns as -3 point home favs over the Raiders with the over/under set at 38.5 points . The Raiders (5-9) won in Denver 20-19 in Week 15 with no chance of a playoff appearance. QB JaMarcus Russell came off the bench to lead the Raiders past the Broncos, he made five of 11 passes for 47 yards with a TD. RB Michael Bush had 18 carries for 133 yards with a TD, while WR Chazeray Schilens made five catches for 37 yards with a TD. They must be more disciplined having made nine penalties for 62 yards.  Oakland is one of the NFL's hardest teams to figure out. Oakland has beaten several playoff caliber teams, while also losing to some of the league's worst clubs . The Raiders will want to use their 18th ranked ground game, led by RB Michael Bush’s 519 yards rushing and three TD’s, against the Browns 29th ranked rush defense. If the game is close, the Raiders will likely win (they are 5-1 in games decided by four points or less, and 0-8 in games decided by more than four points). The Raiders have averaged 20ppg and allowed 25.7ppg in their last three games. They are 3-4 SU on the road where they average 13.7ppg and give up an average 24.9ppg.They are 7-7 ATS and 7-7 over/under.

The Browns (3-11) won in Kansas City 41-34 in Week 15 and no playoffs. QB Brady Quinn made 10 of 17 passes for 66 yards with two interceptions; overall he’s thrown for 1,339 yards with eight TD’s and seven interceptions. RB Jerome Harrison had 34 carries for 286 yards with three TD’s, while WR Chansi Stuckey made five catches for 41 yards. The only light shining on the Browns is Joshua Cribbs had two long kickoff return touchdowns last week to give him a league record eight for his career , and he has also been dynamic as a punt returner and Wildcat quarterback this year. It will be a great matchup to see how Cribbs does against perhaps the league's best kicking tandem in Oakland punter Shane Lechler and place kicker Sebastian Janikowski. The Browns 29th ranked running game will be even with the Raiders 28th ranked rush defense. Their pass game has struggled of late with QB Quinn throwing no TD’s and two interceptions in his last two games. Their top WR Mohamed Massaquoi has 549 total yards receiving with two TD’s, but has only 73 yards receiving with one TD in his last four games. The Browns have averaged 25.7ppg and allowed 23.3ppg in their last three games. They are 1-5 SU at home where they average 13.2ppg and allow 23.3ppg. They are 8-6 ATS and 6-8 over/under.

Recent Trends to Consider:

  • Raiders are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings.
  • Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. AFC.
  • Browns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS win.
  • Browns are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
  • Browns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. AFC.
  • Browns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games on grass.
  • Under is 8-2 in Browns last 10 vs. a team with a losing record.
