The Carolina Panthers play their NFL Picks last game of the season in Week 17 as they travel South to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  The Panthers are coming off a game that saw them play the #1 seeded Cowboys tough in a 20-13 loss.  The Panthers once again looked to undrafted rookie QB Matt Moore to run the offense.  Last week Moore completed 15 of 28 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown.  His offensive line had problems protecting him however as he was sacked five times by the Dallas defense.  They didn’t do much on the ground either as RB DeAngelo Williams ran for only 60 yards on 10 carries.  The Carolina offense has been one of the worse in the NFL all season as they rank 29^th averaging only 15.7 points per game.  Once one of the better defensive units in the league the Panthers have fallen to 16^th in total yards.  Maybe not surprisingly the Pahtners are installed as a -3 point favorite at SBGglobal.com 

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers come into this contest losing two of their last three although having locked up the #4 seed in the playoffs.  Although it is more likely that they will rest most of their starters for the second week in a row, or at least have them play a portion of the game, they would like to end the season on a winning note.  Jeff Garcia passed for 196 yards and a touchdown against his former team before coach Jon Gruden removed him for Luke McCown, who passed for 185 yards and led them on a drive that almost won the game for Tampa Bay.  Much of the Buccaneers success this season can be attributed to their defense who, going in this game, rank 2^nd in the NFL in total yards allowing only 274 yards per game. 

The Panthers haven’t quit yet despite their horrible season as they have gone 3-1 ATS in their L4 games.  That issue combined the fact that the road team has won five of the L6 meetings between these teams and you might have your winner. But, Tampa Bay has been tough at home this season going 6-1 SU & ATS while allowing just 11 points per game.
