The Denver Broncos are in San Diego tonight to battle for the AFC Western division title and a trip to the playoffs. The big game kicks off at 8:15pm ET and will be nationally televised on NBC's Sunday Night Football. NFL Picks at Sportsbook.com have the Chargers listed as a -8 home favorite.
Broncos Breakdown: Denver had a chance last weekend to wrap up the AFC West and secure the number four seed in the AFC Playoffs, but they were unable to beat the Bills at Mile High. The Broncos lost the game 30-23 and now face a must win game against the Chargers to secure a post-season appearance. Mike Shanahan's team has been decent on the road this year, winning four of seven, but they lost their last away game 10-30 in Charlotte.
The Broncos are averaging 24.1 points per game outside the state of Colorado, but they are giving up 26.4 points per game in opposing stadiums.
Chargers Breakdown: San Diego looked destined to finish out of the playoff picture, but their late season surge, combined with the Broncos collapse, has left them in the post-season mix. The Chargers, after last week's drubbing of the Buccaneers, have now won three straight games. Should they win at Qualcomm tonight, they will be the four seed in the AFC as the winner of the AFC West and host the Colts in next weekend's Wildcard round.
The Chargers are 4-3 playing at home this year and averaging 27.4 points per game as a host team.
NFL Picks Betting Trend: The Under is 7-3 in Denver's last 10 games as a road underdog versus San Diego.
