NFL Point Spreads Week 17

The AFC Playoff field is set, but there is still much to be determined in the way of seeding. In the NFC, Green Bay, Detroit, Washington and Tampa Bay are vying the final two spots and seeding is still up in the air as well. Everything will be determined on Sunday, of course, and the latest NFL Point Spreads Week 17 from Bovada.lv like the Redskins and Packers to punch their playoff tickets.

Washington will host the Giants, who have already secured a postseason berth, and it is favored by eight points in the divisional matchup. Green Bay, which presently sits atop the NFC North standings, is favored by 3.5 in its NBC Sunday Night Football clash with the Lions in Detroit.

The outcome of the Redskins/Giants game could take some tension off of both the Packers and Lions before their SNF meeting, though. Should New York prevail, both teams would punch their playoff tickets, but the winner would lock up the division and host a Wild Card game.

If the odds makers are correct with their AFC prognostications, the Chiefs will earn the two seed and a bye as they are favored by six over the Chargers while the Raiders, the current two seed, are a two point dog at Denver.

New England is a 9.5 point favorite at Miami, but a Patriots loss and Raiders win would give Oakland the top seed. That scenario would also impact the lower seeds as the Dolphins could then gain the five seed if Kansas City were to lose to San Diego.

It’s all very convoluted and complicated and somehow the Buccaneers are still alive in all of it, but it would take a Christmas miracle and then some for them to earn a playoff spot.

To make things easier, here is what the upcoming NFL playoffs would look like – seeds and all – if everything were to go according to the latest Week 17 lines:

AFC Playoffs –

No. 1 New England Patriots (Bye)
No. 2 Kansas City Chiefs (Bye)
No. 6 Miami Dolphins @ No. 3 Pittsburgh Steelers
No. 5 Oakland Raiders @ No. 4 Houston Texans

NFC Playoffs –

No. 1 Dallas Cowboys (Bye)
No. 2 Atlanta Falcons (Bye)
No. 6 Washington Redskins @ No. 3 Seattle Seahawks
No. 5 New York Giants @ No. 4 Green Bay Packers

NFL Point Spreads Week 17 Betting Trends:

The Chiefs are 5-0 straight up and 4-1 against the spread in their last five games playing as a favorite when they played their previous two games at home.

The Cowboys are 3-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last four games playing as a divisional road dog coming off a home win (Under was 4-0 in those same four games).

The Over is 5-1 in the Patriots last six games playing as a divisional road favorite coming off a home win.
