New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers (-3) (O/U-43) Sunday, Jan 22@6:30 PM ET

The Giants played the Niners this season and lost, 20-27 on the road, in Week 10. The Giants are 3-4 against the 49ers in the playoffs, including their memorable collapse in a wild-card game at San Francisco on Jan. 5, 2003. New York led 38-14 in the third quarter but fell apart and lost 39-38.

QB Eli Manning threw three touchdown passes, as the Giants shocked the Packers 37-20 in an NFC Divisional Playoff Game on Sunday. Manning threw for 330 yards with one interception. Manning found six different receivers against a porous Packers defense. But Manning did the most damage with his throws to Hakeem Nicks, who caught seven passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. The Giants’ defense also was able to defuse the big-play abilities of Aaron Rodgers and the Packers’ offense. Green Bay lost three fumbles, including one on a rare giveaway by Rodgers. The Giants also sacked Rodgers four times.

The resurgent 49ers capitalized on five Saints turnovers for a thrilling 36-32 playoff victory Saturday. QB Alex Smith completed a 14-yard touchdown pass to avis with 9 seconds left to get them their first playoff game win in nine years. TE Vernon Davis finished with seven catches for 180 yards. It was the most yards receiving by a tight end in a playoff game. He averaged 25.7 yards per catch. Smith ran for a 28-yard touchdown with 2:11 left and threw another scoring pass to Davis. Coach Jim Harbaugh’s NFC West champion 49ers proved that a hard-hitting, stingy defense still can win in the modern, wide-open NFL by holding off one of league’s most dynamic offenses.

The Bottom Line: The 49ers have home field advantage, but we just saw what the Giants did to the Packers. I like the Niners.  NFL Point Spreads Expert Tyler Morgan went 4-0 ATS during the Divisional round, winning on underdogs Giants vs Packers to bring his NFL Predictions record to 73-39-4 for the season.
