Chiefs Tangle With Colts in AFC Wild Card GameTony Dungy, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards are two longtime friends but will be adversaries on Saturday, Jan.6 when the Colts play host to the Wild-Card Chiefs in the first round of the AFC playoffs from the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. The game kicks off at 4:40 p.m. (EST).

The Colts are being carried as -7.0 favorites with a total of 51 across the offshore board including at mega sportsbooks BoDog, BetUS and Nine.

The Colts and Chiefs are no strangers to each other when it comes to the postseason. The Colts defeated the Chiefs in the 2003 AFC Divisional Playoff Game and also in 1995. Indianapolis will become the fourth franchise the Chiefs have met three times in the postseason, joining Buffalo, Miami and Oakland.

Edwards is the only head coach in Chiefs history to guide the franchise to the postseason in his first season at the franchise’s helm. He has now led two different clubs (Chiefs and Jets) to the playoffs in his first season with those teams, becoming just the fifth coach in NFL history to accomplish such a feat. Edwards has now compiled four playoff berths in six seasons as an NFL head coach. The game Saturday will be the first road postseason outing for the Chiefs since an AFC Wild Card contest at Miami in 1994.

Indianapolis cruised to an AFC South divisional championship with a 12-4 record but struggled over a six week span to close out the regular season losing four of its last seven regular season games. The Colts did not fare well with bettors either failing to cash ATS in 6-of-8 games they played to finish out the season including four of the last five. In total results the UNDER and OVER were split 8-8 on the season with the OVER cashing in the final two games.

The Chiefs own a two-game winning streak, straight up and ATS, entering the playoffs. The Chiefs are coming off a 35-30 SU win (-1 ATS) vs. Jacksonville on Dec. 31 in the club’s regular season finale that helped propel Kansas City to a 9-7 regular season record and punched its card to the postseason. On Dec. 23, the Chiefs defeated Oakland on the road 20-9 SU and covered ATS as a -7.0-point road favorite.

On the road, Kansas City fared poorly for backers in covering ATS in only 3-of-8 games. The UNDER covered in 8-of-16 games while the OVER was successful in 7-of-8 games with one push.
