Group 1 Eli Manning Willie Parker Chad Johnson vs. Michael Vick Julius Jones Anquan Boldin Manning Jr. is coming off a quietly effective week and goes up against the Michael Vick experience both in fantasy and real football. The running backs in this match-up figure to pile up some tantalizing numbers as Wee Willie Parker takes on Kansas City, while Julius Jones faces the fragile Texans’ defense. Chad Johnson’s effect on the fantasy world has been subtle to this point in the season but coming off of a bye, expect him to make a statement. Pick: Eli Manning, Willie Parker, Chad Johnson Get more NFL Point Spreads here
Group 2 Donovan McNabb is the odds on favorite for NFL MVP so far and he heads into New Orleans this week. Brees, who is quarterbacking America’s new team, the New Orleans Saints, has picked apart every type of defense so far and will put up decent number against the Eagles as well. Look for Clinton Portis to have a huge week against the feeble and worst-ranked Titans rushing defense while Santana Moss should also find the end zone. Very quietly, Steven Jackson has found himself atop the league in rushing yards. Don’t sleep on him. Pick: Donovan McNabb, Clinton Portis, Santana Moss Group 3 Philip Rivers LaDainian Tomlinson Plaxico Burress vs. Matt Hasselbeck Larry Johnson Hines Ward Matt Hasselbeck has had a week off to think about his misstep on national television in Chicago and now finds himself in a first-place tilt with St. Louis. Both Larry Johnson (neck stinger) and Hines Ward (hamstring) are hurt but expect them to play through the pain. Pick: Philip Rivers looks like he did some growing up last week and along with his number one, LaDainian Tomlinson, the Chargers should abuse the San Francisco 49ers. Group 4 Chad Pennington Rudi Johnson Javon Walker vs. Carson Palmer Willis McGahee Andre Johnson After putting up a donut last week, Chad Pennington will reassert himself this week against the Miami Dolphins. He teams with Rudi Johnson, who is itching to carry the load against a frail Bucs’ rush defense, and Javon Walker, who made more than a couple of critical catches on Monday Night Football. Carson Palmer will be sharp after a bye week and teams with Willis McGahee, who ranks third in NFL rushing, and Andre Johnson, who ranks fourth in NFL receiving. Pick: Carson Palmer, Willis McGahee, Andre Johnson Group 5 Quarterbacks Carson Palmer Drew Bledsoe Donovan McNabb Drew Brees Pick: Drew Bledsoe Group 6 Running Backs Larry Johnson LaDainian Tomlinson Rudi Johnson Tiki Barber Pick: LaDainian Tomlinson |
