atlanta falcons matt ryanJacksonville Jaguars vs Atlanta Falcons Spread Thursday Night Football Game 2011: Two teams heading in opposite directions will meet tonight at the Georgia Dome, as the (4-9) Jacksonville Jaguars [+12] visit the NFL Point Spreads favorite (8-5) Atlanta Falcons [-12]. But these aren’t just two teams going in opposite ways, this may also be the case of their franchises.

With the recent purchase of the Jacksonville Jaguars by Pakistani-born American businessman, Shahid Khan, the biggest concern in the minds of all Jacksonville fans is will the team remain in North Florida? The belief is that the Jaguars destiny is to leave to a bigger market. With cities like Los Angeles desperate to have their own NFL team, Khan might be taking his how out to Hollywood in the not-so distant future.

“This is a partnership, really, with the fans,” Khan said during his press conference. “I am committed obviously to the rebirth, the reinvigoration, doing whatever it takes to put a winner on the field to make Wayne and the other Jacksonvillians proud.”

In the meantime, this team has to ignore all distractions and focus on playing football. The Jaguars come in looking to play spoiler in the Falcons’ push for a playoff berth. Currently occupying the fourth spot in the division, Atlanta has positioned itself to make a run at the postseason. However, this year’s experience to the playoff will be extremely different from last season’s, when ATL earned the top seed in the NFC with a 13-3 record.

In order to make it back, the Falcons will have to fight for every down, every play. With teams like the Jaguars out to spoil their playoff chances, one bad game could mean the end of the season for Mike Smith and Matt Ryan. Some players find it hard to believe how much the culture in Hotlanta has changed over the years. Now a days, everything is about winning in this town.

“That’s crazy,” Corey Peters said. “Since I’ve been here, it’s all about winning. The attitude is a winning one.”
