Michael Vick will be leading the Atlanta Falcons into Ford Field to defeat the Detroit Lions. This may prove to be a task not too difficult by any means. Quarterback Michael Vick has becomes more of a passer in the last two games and with the limited defensive line the Detroit Lions bring to the game Vick, might just do more serious out of the pocket passing then in any of his previous appearances.
The Lions defense has only sacked 13 times and is tied for 26th in the NFL. The passing defense has allowed 237.6 yards per game and is the fourth most allowing in the league. Michael Vick is certain to pick this defense apart with precision passing and surprise rushing. He’s requested to throw more and in the last two games he has thrown more than 2 touch downs per game. He threw four against the Steelers and three against the Bengals, which is more than he did for 63 games before then.

Passing does not seem a difficult situation for Vick this Sunday; the Lions allow 237.6 passing yards per game and have given up 9 touch downs through the air. Their rushing defense doesn’t seem to put too much of a stop on offenses by permitting 112.4 yards rushing per game. Against a team like the Atlanta Falcons with running back Warrick Dunn that may prove to be difficult but throw Michael Vick running into this and that seems lethal.
We expect Warrick Dunn to run for a hundred plus yards on Sunday and there won’t be much the Detroit Lions will be able to do since they will have to regard the resurgent passing or maybe running option from Vick. If he is to pass he will most likely hit Alge Crumpler who has 385 yards and 5 touch downs. He may also choose to start a new scoring option in the hands of Ashley Lelie, who at 6’3 has an advantage over Lions corner back Dre’Bly at 5’9 or at secondary Stan Wilson at 5’11.
The Detroit Lions, after a bye week might have starting safety Kenoy Kennedy and linebackers Alex Lewis and Teddy Lehman back in the line up. Although the come back of these players sounds hopeful there is the loss of defenders Shaun Rogers (suspension) and Shaun Cody (toe) who were missed very much during the game against the New York Jets, where the defense allowed a season high rushing 221 yards.
On the Lions’ offense there is also a loss to mention as well, Kitna will not count with wide receiver Az-Zahir Hakim who was waved in spite of catching 17 passes and obtaining 147 yards. Called a football move there were no further comments on it by coach Rod Marinelli.
Atlanta -6. This will be an easy road game for the dirty south. Do what you want with the total, we aren’t guessing.
