This game has been hyped up so much, that I don’t know that anyone can stand another Tim Tebow highlight or ESPN segment. People have even gone on to call this “The Game of the Year!” I’m now quite sure it deserves all that attention, but it should be a fun game to watch… in the fourth quarter, that is.
Sports Authority Field at Mile High will be the site for this NFL Week 15 matchup between the (10-3) New England Patriots [-7.5] and the betting underdog (8-5) Denver Broncos [+7.5]. This, Tom Brady vs. Tim Tebow matchup is scheduled to get underway Sunday afternoon at 4 PM ET on CBS Sports. According to NFL Point Spreads, the OVER/UNDER between the Pats and Broncos is set at a combined total of 47 points.
For the Patriots, they come into this game showcasing the best offense in the league, as well as its worst defense. Brady is having yet another MVP-caliber year, as he has his team on the verge on clinching home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Coming into this game, Brady is second in the league in passing yards (4273) and touchdowns (33) only behind Drew Brees (4368) and Aaron Rodgers (39).
Brady has taken the high road this week, choosing to praise Tebow for the things he does right on the field rather than trashing him for the negative ones. Unlike the Jets, the Pats are making sure they don’t give the Broncos defense any more motivation than they already have. Choosing his words carefully, one of the greatest quarterbacks ever, paid Tebow the highest compliment this week.
“Everyone says he struggles throwing the ball. What I saw last night, he had no problems throwing the ball,” Brady said. “He threw the ball extremely well when I was watching. They play for 60 minutes. They’ve obviously closed a lot of games and finished very well. We have a huge test. We’ll all be excited, and hopefully have a good week of preparation and be ready to go.”
For the Broncos, this team has proven many things this season. But I think one of the most powerful ones has to be this team’s love and willingness to leave it al on the field for Tebow. The way this team has emerged from the ashes since Tebow was promoted to be the starter is truly inspiring. It’s too bad that people are taking this Tebow thing and completely spinning it out of control.
“If you believe,” Tebow said, “then unbelievable things can sometimes be possible.”
