The NFC North Champions Chicago Bears will welcome the Seattle Seahawks, winners of the NFC Western Division on Sunday when the two teams collide at Chicago’s Soldier Field with a 1 p.m. EST kickoff.
The forecast for Sunday’s NFC divisional playoff game in Chicago sounds like it’s perfect for a polar bear. A wintry mix of snow, sleet and ice is expected. The forecast also calls for a high of 35 degrees, strong winds and a 70 percent chance of precipitation. Bet on the Bears at -9 at Bodog.com!
The Seahawks are fortunate in more ways then one to have made it to Chicago in the first place. Seattle had a Western Division title all but locked up after defeating Denver on Dec. 3 and only needed one win with four to go to, “seal the deal.” Win one game out of four turned out to be easier said than done. The Denver win was followed by losses to NFC West Division weaklings Arizona on the road and San Francisco at home. Now the Seahawks had two games left, one with probably the NFL’s best team, the San Diego Chargers, and a date with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road to finish the season. Seattle split the last two by winning at Tampa and locking up the elusive divisional title and a playoff spot.

Seattle had home-field advantage in the NFC Wild-Card round with the Dallas Cowboys. The Seahawks won that game when Cowboy’s quarterback Tony Romo miraculously bobbled a snap in what would have been a game winning last second field goal for Dallas.
The Bears were dominating the first half of the regular season winning nine of their first 10 games but struggled late when it came to putting inferior competiton away. The team continued to win but were playing down to the competition and not putting teams away in the dominating fashion as they did in the early months of the season.

Much of the blame to the Bears lack of offensive production this season is on quarterback Rex Grossman who has shown inconsistency. However, his confidence should be high on Sunday based on his earlier regular season performance against the Seahawks. Grossman had one of his finest games of the season Oct. 1 against Seattle, completing 17 of 31 passes for 232 yards with 2 touchdowns, no interceptions and a 100.5 passer rating in a 37-6 win. Bet on Rex Grossman to win the Super Bowl MVP 20 to 1 odds at Nine.com. For every $100 wagered pays off $2000.
Offshore sportsbook Bodog.com has the Bears favored by a -9 point chalk with a total of 37 ½. The Bears have struggled as of late against the spread by failing to cash for backers in their last three games. Prior to the skid ATS the past three games the Bears were a solid bet cashing in 10 of their first 13 games. The OVER was the dominate winner in totals betting in Bears games by cashing in 11-of-16 games they played.
The Seahawks were not very good in covering the spread this season only cashing for backers in 6-of-16 games. The OVER cashed in nine of 16 games the Seahawks played.
