by Scott Burgess on Monday, December 19th, 2011

NFL Week 15 is in the books as some teams have secured a playoff berth, while some still fight for their lives. Week 15 headlines: Tom Brady, and Patriots halt Tebow Time, claim AFC East title, Chargers beat up on Ravens to stay alive in AFC West race, Colts topple Titans for first win, Eagles put damper on Jets’ playoff hopes, Redskins pull surprise upset on Giants, Newton too much for Texans to handle, and a big day from Drew Brees leads Saints to victory over the Vikings. Let’s take a look at what’s ahead in Week 16 and the Top 2 matchups. Be sure to get your NFL Week 16 Predictions in early.

N.Y. Giants at N.Y. Jets (-3)(O/U-46)
The Giants (7-7, 4-3 V) were crushed by the Redskins 10-23, at home, in Week 15 and put the hurt on their playoff hopes. The loss knocked the Giants out of first place in the NFC East. Dallas now leads the division by a game with two to go, including one with Giants on the final weekend. If New York beats the Jets and the Cowboys in its final two games they will win the division.

The Jets (8-6, 6-1 H) lost badly to the Eagles, 19-45, on the road, in Week 15. The loss snapped New York’s three-game winning streak, dropping the Jets into a tie with the Cincinnati Bengals for the final wild-card spot in the AFC.

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (-3)(O/U-50.5)
The Eagles (6-8, 4-3 V) pounded the Jets, 45-19, at home, in Week 15. The Eagles have won two in a row for just the second time this season and somehow still have a chance to repeat as NFC East champions despite underachieving most of the year. But they have to catch the Cowboys (8-6) and the Giants (7-7). Eagles QB Michael Vick threw for 274 yards and one touchdown, and he also ran for a score in his second game back after missing three with broken ribs. RB LeSean McCoy ran for three touchdowns to set two team records

The Cowboys (8-6, 5-2 H) beat the Buccaneers 31-15, on the road, in Week 15. The win gave the Cowboys a half-game lead over the Giants in the NFC East. QB Tony Romo threw for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth score. Romo threw a pair of 8-yard TD passes to Miles Austin and Dez Bryant in the first quarter, then finished a seven-play, 89-yard drive with a 9-yarder to Laurent Robinson to make it 21-0 with just under 5 minutes remaining in the second quarter. Romo made it 28-0 on a quarterback sneak in the closing seconds of the opening half.
