With one week to go until Super Bowl XLI kicks off, there is one thing I find impossible to do. I can’t kick my addiction to the player props on the Super Bowl Game offered at Bodog.com. There are several categories I wouldn’t touch even if I was playing with your money, but there are some I think can be big winners. And believe me, there are plenty of player props to wager on; 118 to be exact.

Oddsmakers have not left a stone unturned when it comes to betting on just about anything in regards to the Super Bowl. If a football fan can’t find a player-prop to wager on then he or she should turn in their chips. In any case, the idea is to have some fun while we try to break the bank. Over the next week, the sports staff at Point-Spreads.com will run a series of articles breaking down as many of these props as possible and hopefully help you win some money.

The first of these props to jump off the page at me is an over-under question.

Will Peyton Manning have more rushing attempts in the Super Bowl than the number of Grammy Awards the Dixie Chicks win? The Grammy Award’s show takes place a week after the Super Bowl on Feb. 11.

Bodog.com is showing the Dixie Chicks as a slight money line favorite to win this prop at -125 to Manning at -115.

I think this is a wager we can win once we break down the category. To start with, the Dixie Chicks are nominated for five Grammy Awards including record of the year, “Not Ready to Make Nice” and album of the year, “Taking The Long Way.”

If the Chicks win two of the five awards they would be my favorite pick over the number of rushes Peyton Manning gets. Will the Dixie Chicks win all five Grammy categories? Probably not but I think they have a good chance to win three and I would be shocked if they win less than two.

The Chicks’ latest CD, “Taking the Long Way,” has been certified double platinum in the U.S. and has gone triple platinum in Canada, double platinum in Australia, platinum in New Zealand and gold in the U.K. and Ireland. Of all albums released in 2006, “Taking the Long Way was the 6th biggest selling disc last year in the U.S. Additionally, “Not Ready to Make Nice” has now been certified a Gold digital single. These girls are hot right now and it might be difficult to bet against them; even if it is against Peyton Manning.

Now we need to determine the other half of the equation. How many rushes will Peyton Manning get? Keep in mind that in the NFL if the quarterback is sacked for a loss in yards the play does not count as a rushing attempt. The NFL has a separate statistic for sacks so with that being said, how often does Manning rush the ball?

In the 16 games Manning played during the regular season including the two playoff rounds, he rushed the football 28 times for an average of 1.76 rushes per game.

After looking at the facts, I see Manning chasing the Chicks in this prop. My guess is the Dixie Chicks win between three and five Grammy’s and Manning rushing only twice. I’ll take the Chicks at -125.
