Bodog.com has compiled a nice list of Super Bowl XLI team-props for you to bet on and as usual, the mega sportsbook has not missed a beat. They even have an over/under bet (One-minute and forty-four seconds) on how long it takes Billy Joel to sing the National Anthem. Personally I don’t have a clue but if you have a pretty good idea you can get that bet at -110 for the over and -130 for the under. Personally, I prefer to put my money on the football side of things and leave the singing and entertainment props to others.
Of the numerous team-prop categories to choose from, I like the one that lets me choose who will receive the first kickoff. The teams are listed with the same odds, -110 on the money line ($110 wager wins $100), to receive the opening kickoff but with a little reasoning maybe we can beat the bookie on this one.

I think the Colts will receive the opening kickoff in Super Bowl XLI and here is my reasoning.
The Chicago Bears’ head coach Lovie Smith probably has more confidence in his defense than does Tony Dungy, head coach of the Colts. As a general unwritten rule, if a football team wins the coin toss it will defer from receiving the football until the second half especially if the head coach has a defensive mentality as does Smith. Coaches with a defensive mentality think their team has a better chance of getting good field position if they defer receiving the football until the second half. When I think of the Chicago Bears, I think of defense. Its defense that got Chicago to the Super Bowl and they would prefer to put it out on the field first.

If the Colts win the coin-toss I will take the opposite approach and guess that Tony Dungy will make the decision to receive the ball. The Colts got to the Super Bowl on the arm of Peyton Manning and want the ball in his hands as soon as possible. Another major reason the Colts will choose to receive is the potential threat of Bears record-setting return man Devin Hester burning them for a quick six. Indianapolis doesn’t want to start the Super Bowl off that way. Put your money on it; the Colts will receive.
