Tennessee Titans 2006 AFC South Preview

Head coach Jeff Fischer returns for his 12th season leading the Tennessee Titans. The Titans had a bad falling out with Steve McNair in the off season. Tennessee is already looking to the future by selecting Vince Young in the 2006 NFL Draft. Fischer will be patient when he developes Young in much the same way he was with McNair.

Billy Volek will be the starting quarterback for the Titans. Volek did not play a single snap last season. Running back Chris Brown will get much of the running plays. Tennessee is hoping he will remain healthy. Fischer will use second round draft pick LenDale White as well. David Givens and Drew Bennett will be the starting wide receivers. The Titans will struggle on offense all season.

Jim Schwartz is going to have to improve the Tennessee Titans defensive performance if they expect to win more than 4 games this season. The Titans defense gave up an average of 26 points per game, ranked 29th in the NFL. Corner back Packman Jones is expected to perform with more maturity this season. Hopefully Kyle Vanden Bosch will have a repeat performance. Vanden Bosch was able to record 12.5 sacks last season. The Tennesee Titans defense will get slightly better but still struggle in 2006.
