2010 Masters Betting Odds: As the world's greatest golfers prepare to tackle the par 72, 7435 yard Augusta National this week, golf bettors can cash in on their performance or lack thereof. Tiger Woods is presently listed as the first round favorite at +800 moneyline odds. Rounding out the top five are Ernie Els (+1400), Phil Mickelson (+1400), Retief Goosen (+1800), and Steve Stricker (+1800).
Tiger Woods is a four time Masters champion, winning the Green Jacket in 1997, 2001, 2002, and 2005, but most of his 
success at Augusta has not come in the first round. Woods average first round score, which covers 15 appearances at the event (two as an amatuer), is an almost even par 72.4. He has fared better in the final round, posting an average mark of 70.9 (14 showings – missed cut in 1996 as an amatuer). In his Masters winning campaigns, Woods has averaged 71 in the first round and 69.8 in the final round.
Phil Mickelson, the only other Masters winner among the top five favrorites to win the first round, has posted an average score of 71 in the opening round of play in 17 appearances at Augusta. Mickelson has been erratic at the Masters, though, having tallied first round scores ranging anywhere from 65 to 76. When 'Lefty' won the Green jacket in 2004 and 2006, he concluded the opening round with scores of 72 and 70 respectively.
Ernie Els has never finished under 70 in the first round of Masters play and his average in the first 18 is a lackluster 73. Els, who has missed the last three Masters cuts, has posted an abysmal total of 227 (75.6) in his last three opening rounds at Augusta.
