2010 Masters Results: Tiger Woods Six Under, Westwood and Poulter Tied for Lead

2010 Masters Results: Day two at Augusta National has come to a close and Englishmen Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter are tied for first at eight under par. Tiger Woods had another solid day, posting a two under par score of 70 in his second round of play. Woods was still listed as the favorite to win the Green Jacket when the players hit the links at Augusta this morning. Lee Westwood, who has 20 European Tour wins, followed up yesterday's brilliant 67 shot first round with a four under par 68 2010 Masters Results: Tiger Woods Six Under,  Westwood and Poulter Tied for Leadtoday. The Worksop, England native ran into trouble on a few occasions, recording bogies on holes five and 10 as well as a double bogey on the 14th. All in all, though, his shot making was right on as he nailed birdies on holes 3, 6, 7, 11, 13, and 15. Westwood, who has never won a major, also had an eagle on hole two.

Westwood's best finish at Augusta came in 1999 when he placed sixth with a three under par tally of 285. 

Poulter, who is also vying for his first major, matched his first round tally of 68 today after hitting birdies on 2, 8, 12, 13, and 16. The 34 year old Stevenage native has finished under par just one time in five previous Masters appearances. That occurance came last year when he registered at two under after four rounds.

Tiger Woods did not live up to yesterday's 68, but the four time Masters winner left himself within striking distance of Westwood and Poulter by shooting a two under par 70. Woods is now six under for the Tournament after recording his second best total at Augusta National through the first two rounds of play (shot a 136 in the first two rounds in 1997 and 2001, won both years).

Woods is currently tied for third with Ricky Barnes, Anthony Kim, Phil Mickelson, and KJ Choi.

Fred Couples, who led after the first round of play, finished +3 for the day and is now tied for ninth with Soren Kjeldsen and Tom Watson at three under par.
