The PGA Tour resumes Thursday with the 2008 AT&T Classic TPC Sugarloaf, in Duluth, Georgia. There’s no Tiger, Phil or Vijay but there’s lots of talented players who are previous winners or winners on tour this year. TPC Sugarloaf is a tough, hilly, water filled golf course designed by Greg Norman who will be playing this weekend. The only Top 5 player in the field this weekend is Stewart Cink which is why oddsmakers at BodogLife.com has Stewart Cink at 9 to 1 odds to win the 2008 AT&T Classic. Stewart Cink has already made himself comfortable at the top of leaderboard this season by finishing in the top three on four occasions and missing just one cut all year. As for the AT&T Classic, Cink seems to like the course in Duluth, Ga. From 1998-2001, Cink's worst finish was a tie for 10th and his best was a runner up. He hasn't missed a cut there since 2002 and he’s made the Top-25 four of the last five years. Stewart Cink finished tied for 21st at last week’s THE PLAYERS Championship.
Zack Johnson loves the AT&T Classic. In four starts at the AT&T Classic, Johnson has won twice and never finished worst than a tie for 26th. All three of his PGA TOUR wins have come in the Georgia, highlighted of course by his first major victory at the Masters in 2007. He failed to make the cut at last week’s THE PLAYERS Championship. BodogLife.com has Zack Johnson at 12 to 1 odds to win.
Ben Crane is coming off a tie for sixth at THE PLAYERS, where he said his game was as good as it's been all year. He is a former winner at TPC Sugarloaf and he might just find a bit more magic in his bag this week. His best finish this year was at the 2008 FBR Open where he finished tied for 4th. BodogLife.com has Ben Crane at 16 to 1 odds to win.
Surprise Pick: Jonathan Byrd has two Top 9 finishes here the last two years. Playing well, just needs to put his head down and get it done. He birdied the last three holes to make the cut at THE PLAYERS. Only top 10 this year came in match play. BodogLife.com has Jonathan Byrd at 22 to 1 odds to win.
Surprise PICK: Ryuji Imada was last year's runner-up (lost in a playoff to Zack Johnson) has had a strong start to his season again this year. While he is still looking for his first PGA TOUR victory, he is 18th in the FedEX Cup standings already banking over a million this year. He has finished second in two tourneys this year, 2nd at the 2008 Buick Invitational and at the 2008 PODS Championship. BodogLife.com has Ryuji Imada at 28 to 1 odds to win.
