The 2009 US Open Championship: With golf's most difficult major set to tee off this Thursday, oddsmakers at Bodog.com have posted their 2009 US Open Championship Odds. Tigers Woods, last year's US Open victor and 14 time major winner, is listed as the favorite at 2 to 1 betting odds.2009 US Open Championship Odds

Tigers Woods, who ended his season after winning the US Open last year to undergo knee surgery, captured his second PGA win since returning to the tour by besting the field at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio on June 7th. Woods finished at 12 under par to beat out another former US Open champion, Jim Furyk, by one stroke.

The win at the Memorial was the 67th PGA Tour win for Woods and it solidified his favored status heading into this week's US Open Championship.

Irish born Padraig Harrington is the second most favored player at this weekend's tournament at 10 to 1 betting odds. Harrington has had a rough year thus far, missing the cut in five of the 12 events he has entered. The 37 year old golfer, who has won three major championships, finished 49th at THE PLAYERS Championship in May before missing the cut at both the Memorial Tournament and the St. Jude Classic.

The 2009 US Open Championship begins Thursday, June 18th at 10am ET at the Bethpage State Park Black Course in Farmingdale, New York. It will be broadcast live on NBC. The Black Course, considered one of the most difficult on tour at 7,505 yards (Par 70), was the first public golf course to host the US Open.
