2010 US Open Odds: The 139th U.S. Open Championship is scheduled to get underway this Thursday, June 17th at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California. The legendary course, which has hosted the U.S. Open four times, has been extended to 7040 yards for this week's event; par for the championship will be 71. 2010 US Open Odds at Sportsbook.com have the beleaguered Tiger Woods listed as a +600 co-favorite with Phil Mickelson to win the season's second major.
Tiger Woods has done little since his return to golf at the Masters in April to inspire any confidence that he will, indeed, 
emerge victorious on Sunday. However, Woods does have 14 major championships under his belt, with three of those coming at the U.S. Open. The 34 year old also won by a record 15 strokes when Pebble Beach hosted the event in 2000.
Woods, who has played in four tournaments this year, last saw action at The Memorial on June 6th, where he finished 19th. Prior to his appearance at Muirfield, the Stanford product withdrew from THE PLAYERS Championship in early May. Woods missed the cut at Quail Hollow and shot a 277 at the Masters for a fourth place finish at Augusta.
Phil Mickelson, who won his third Masters and fourth major in April, presently ranks number two on the PGA Tour moneylist and is dangerously close to replacing Woods atop in the official world golf rankings. Since his victory at Augusta, Mickelson has recorded two top five finishes in four events played, including a fifth place turn at the Memorial a week and a half ago.
Mickelson has finished second at the U.S. Open on five occasions, which includes last year's rain soaked tournament at Bethpage Black in New York.
Woods is scheduled to tee off on Thursday at 4:36pm ET; rounding out his group are Ernie Els and Lee Westwood. Mickelson has been paired with Padraig Harrington and YE Yang in Group 14.
