2010 US Open Predictions: The 2010 U.S. Open will get underway tomorrow morning at the legendary Pebble Beach Golf Links in California. In preparation for the season's second major, online sportsbook Bodog.com has released their 2010 US Open Predictions and Place Betting Odds. The world's top ranked golfer, Tiger Woods, is presently listed at 11 to 8 odds to finish in the top five at the 2010 U.S. Open as is second ranked Phil Mickelson. The bookmaker has Englishman Lee Westwood listed at 2 to 1 odds to garner a top five finish this weekend.
It is no secret that Tiger Woods has been off his game coming into tomorrow's proceedings; however, fans and 
oddsmakers alike seem confident that the careworn golfer will be on top of it this weekend. Woods, along with Phil Mickelson, is the favorite to win the event, despite his fall from grace last November and subsequent difficulty finding his stroke.
Given Woods penchant for performing when the stakes are highest, especially at Pebble Beach, where he won by a record 15 strokes in the 2000 U.S. Open, it comes as no surprise that he would receive plenty of backers leading into a major he has won on three occasions.
Mickelson's favored status is no shocker either. Lefty won his fourth major at the Masters in April and he has secured two top five finishes since then, making him the PGA Tour's number two money winner this season. And, despite not having won the U.S. Open in 19 appearances in the tournament, Mickelson has performed well at the event. The Arizona State graduate has finished second five times at the U.S. Open, including last year, and inside the top 10 eight times.
Lee Westwood, another big favorite to finish inside the top five, had his best finish at the U.S. Open in 2003 when he took third. He came in 23rd at Bethpage Black last year, but has since placed third, third, and second in the last three majors.
