Jim Furyk always does well at Warwick Hills, he won in 2003 and he has eight Top 10 finishes, in 13 starts, at the Buick where he has never missed the cut. He has four Top 10 finishes this year but no wins. Usually by this time of year he has at least a win or two under his belt, so he is due! Jim Furyk is +1000 to win the Buick Open.
Kenny Perry has one win and four Top 10 finishes this year. He won the Buick back in 2001 and last year he finished 10th. He is currently ranked 5th in FedEx points and 6th on the PGA Money list. Kenny Perry is listed at +1200 to win the Buick Open.
Justin Leonard is also a fav at the Buick where he won it back in 1996. He came in second last year and is a winner on tour this year. He won the 2008 Stanford St. Jude Championship in a playoff between Trevor Immelman and Robert Allenby. He has improved his distance off the tee box which has drastically improved his game. Justin Leonard is listed as +1500 to win.
You can’t help but root for Rocco Mediate, who won the Buick in 2000. The man that almost tamed Tiger at the 2008 U.S. Open is playing his first tourney since the loss. Although he hasn’t had the greatest success over the years, he could carry his U.S. Open style of play into the Buick Open, which is a birdie haven for golfers. Rocco Mediate is listed as +4500 to win.
