Tiger Woods has yet to win since his infidelity scandal broke. In the six tourneys entered he’s made five cuts with two top 10 finishes. He finished T-4 at 2010 Masters Tournament and T-4 at 2010 U.S. Open Championship. This week’s return to the storied links at St. Andrews is Tiger’s favorite. Asked last month if he could pick one venue where he would like to play all four majors, Woods replied, “I'd probably pick St. Andrews all four times.” In Woods’ two Open Championships at St. Andrews as a professional he has won by a combined 13 strokes , on his way to victory in 2000 he made just three bogeys over 72 Championship holes and had just one three-putt, and nine one-putts, in 2005. The Old Course is also the only major venue where he has won multiple Grand Slam titles.
Phil Mickelson is having success on tour this season after making 12 of 13 cuts with a win at the 2010 Masters Tournament. He also has four Top 10 finishes this season. He finished second at the 2010 Quail Hollow Championship, T-4 at 2010 U.S. Open Championship, T-5 at the Memorial Tournament and T-8 at 2010 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. He currently ranks 5th in scoring average on the PGA TOUR. Phil hasn’t had the best luck at an Open Championship with one top-10 finish in 16 tilts. The world number two is still in pursuit of the famed Claret Jug and it would mean the world to him to win. "I expect to play well here, I really do. I expect to be in contention," said Mickelson, who would become world number one with victory on Sunday.
