2010 British Open Picks: The 139th Open Championship takes place this week at the legendary Old Course at St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Tiger Woods, divorce, personal turmoil, and poor golf aside (relatively speaking), is the favorite to win this weekend's 
Open Championship at 5 to 1 odds. Consequently, it only makes sense that he is the favorite among the field to grab a spot in the top five at 11 to 10 odds.
Woods has done that just two times in six PGA events this year (33 percent), finishing fourth at both the Masters and U.S. Open. Tiger's top five record at the British Open is a slightly better 38 percent as he has recorded five top five results in 13 Open Championships played. Woods has three wins at the event, including victories the last two times St. Andrews served as host (2000, 2005).
Phil Mickelson, who is listed at 3 to 1 odds to finish in the top five this weekend, has not performed well at the British Open, placing inside the top five just one time in 16 appearances. Lefty has played in three Open Championships at St. Andrews, recording an average finish of 37. His best finish at the British Open came in 2000 when he tied for 11th.
Rory McIlroy, who is playing in just his second British Open, has had a rough go of late on the Tour, missing the cut in four of his last seven events. The Northern Ireland native did squeeze in a victory at Quail Hollow and a top 10 finish at the Memorial during that stretch, which kept it from being a total disaster. McIlroy tied for 47th at Turnberry last year with a score of 288.
