Will Tiger Woods Wife Attend the British Open 2009? That's the question many are asking as the world's number one ranked golfer prepares to tee off at Turnberry for the first time. Woods' wife, the beautiful Elin Nordegren, was a spectator when he took part in the 135th Open Championship at St. Andrew's in Fife, Scotland. Tiger went on to win his 11th major and third British Open title with Nordegren looking on. SBGglobal.com has Tiger listed as a +200 moneyline favorite to win this year's event. Woods and Nordegren were first introduced in 2001 at the Open Championship, but dated for almost three years before tying the knot in October of 2004. At the time, many wondered if Tiger's marriage would result in fewer wins for him on the Tour. He has since answered that question in spades, securing 29 of his 68 career victories since his marriage to the former model. Tiger has won six of his 14 majors, including the 2005 and 2006 British Opens, post nuptials. Tiger, who has been practicing at Turnberry's Ailsa Course all week, has never participated in an organized event at the facility. He seems to feel comfortable with that fact, but noted he is paying close attention to how things play out during his practice rounds. "You've got to really make sure you do your homework while you're playing, because I can't rely on past years' experience," Woods said. "You really have to hit your ball well, here. You can't just fake it around this golf course. You have to hit good golf shots." Woods, who took first place at the AT&T National on July 5th, has won two of the last three tournaments he has entered. Tiger finished sixth in the first two majors of the season, the Masters and the U.S. Open. He has won at least one major every year of his career with the exceptions of 1998, 2003, and 2004. With just two majors left this year, odds are in favor of the 33 year old winning this weekend or at next month's PGA Championship. If Nordegren does show up for this weekend's proceedings, she might have two good luck charms in tow. Elin gave birth to the couple's second child, Charlie Axel in February of this year. The Woods' daughter, Sam Alexi, was born in June of 2007.
