2009 Buick Open Results: It was not a wire-to-wire win for Tiger Woods, but it might as well have been. Woods slayed the par 72, 7127 yard Warwick Hills Golf Course in rounds two, three, and four to capture his third Buick Open crown and the 69th win of his PGA career. The victory was also his fourth of the 2009 season. 2009 Buick Open Results

Woods had a sub-standard opening round on Thursday, shooting a 1-under par 71 to open the tournament. He made up for the slow start with a magnificent second round performance on Friday, shooting a 9-under par 63 to put him four strokes back of Aussie John Senden.

The 33 year old Woods did not waste anytime on Saturday getting to the top of the leaderboard, scoring birdies on holes 2, 3, 4, and 7. He assured his competitors that they would be chasing him on Sunday when he dropped four more birdies after the turn.

Today Tiger shot his worst round since Thursday, but still finished in the sixties with a 3-under par 69. He played a steady brand of golf this afternoon as he had three birides and no bogeys for the final 18 holes of the tournament.

Woods, who was an 11 to 8 betting odds favorite at Bodog.com to win this weekend, concluded the event with a final score of 268 (25 birdies, five bogeys). The 20-under par mark bested his 2002 Buick Open winning tally of 271, but fell short of the 264 he shot to win the '06 tournament.

Tiger, despite not winning any of the season's first three majors, is running away from the field in terms of overall performance in 2009. In the 11 PGA events he has participated in this season, Woods has finished inside the top 10 nine times and captured wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Memorial Tournament, the AT&T National, and the Buick Open. He is number one on the money list with a total of 4,084,000 (does not count today's winnings) and his 69.2 scoring average is the best on Tour.

Tying for second this weekend at 17-under par were Australians John Senden and Greg Chalmers and American Roland Thatcher. Fifth place went to Korean Y.E. Yang at 16-under while Ben Crane and Michael Letzig tied for sixth at 15-under.
