 Teenage sensation Rory McIlroy showed nerves of steel when finishing third with 225 to 1 odds at SportsBetting.com in his second event as a professional in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The Lancashire man led by three strokes at the start of the final round but three-putted the first for a bogey and put his tee shot at the second into a bunker to lose another stroke. But Dougherty held his nerve and touched off 16/1 runner-up Justin Rose, McIlroy, 10/1 Ernie Els and 125/1 Paul Lawrie. “I felt very nervous at the Start,” said Nick Dougherty.
