When you skin through the John Deere Classic betting odds list it looks as if most of the world’s top golfers are taking the week off in preparation for the British Open Championship. Unfortunately, a diluted field playing in Silvis, Illinois at the TPC at Deere Run has become the norm year in and year out.
Despite the missing usual suspects (Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson), there are still a few recognizable names in the field including Jason Gore, Billy Mayfair and John Daly just to name a few. Someone to keep an eye on at the John Deere Classic is 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson. WagerWeb.com has installed Zach Johnson as the front runner to take the tournament title in 2007.
John Senden, the 2006 John Deere Classic Champion, will be returning to defend his title. Senden shot 19 under par to edge J.P. Hayes by one stroke in an exciting finish last year. Hayes finish in second last year and won the tournament outright in 2002. Only two other former John Deere Classic Champions will be playing in the field this week. Steve Jones who won in 1998 and Blaine McCallister who won way back in 1988.
