Time sure does go by fast, it is hard to believe that it is already the 10th anniversary of Tiger Woods first Master's appearance. Tiger dominated the field in Augusta in 1997 shooting 18 under par (70-66-65-69:270), the lowest score in tournament history which stood for 32 years. Woods beat the rest of the field that year by 12 strokes.
"He is more dominant over the guys he's playing against than I ever was over the ones I played against," commented gold legend Jack Nicklaus.
Augusta National Golf Club did not invite a African American golfer to play in the Masters until 1975 and until 1983 all of the caddies at course were black. The times have surely changed since then. Never before have so many golf enthusiasts stayed at the course so long at Augusta National hoping to get a glimpse of Tiger Woods.
Since 1997, Woods has won the Masters four times (1997, 2001, 2002 and 2005) including being only the third player to win back to back titles in Augusta.
