Woods will have plenty of competition at Torrey Pines with Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh also on the Buick Invitational card. Oddsmakers have both Mickelson and Singh at 9/1 odds to win the tournament followed by Justin Rose at 30/1 and Steward Cink at 40/1. Woods, the top ranked golfer in the world, is coming off a monster year that saw him win eight PGA Tour titles as well as the Dubai Desert Classic, PGA Grand Slam of Golf and Target World Challenge and closed 2006 with six-straight PGA Tour victories, including the British Open and PGA Championship. The three moves to the longer and more difficult South Course on Friday. Last year the 7,607-yard South Course, which is used exclusively for the final two rounds, will play host to the 2008 U.S. Open Championship. Last week Mickelson was the odds-on favorite to win the Bob Hope Chrysler Invitational tournament in Indio, Calif., but had a rough three hole stretch hitting three balls into the water and had scored two double bogeys, five bogeys on his card. The two-time Masters champion finished with a 78 that left him tied for 45th at seven-under.
