The Montreal Canadians have been formidable on the road this season post a solid 19-9-4 SU NHL picks mark but Montreal has struggled recently going only 5-5 SU their last 10 games. They are coming off a 5-1 home win over Atlanta back on Tuesday that snapped a two game losing streak. As the trading deadline approached Chris Higgins continued to be named in a possible trade but he stayed put and the Canadians pulled a surprise deal that sent goalie Cristobal Huet to Washington for a 2009 draft pick, leaving 20-year-old rookie Carey Price as the No. 1 netminder. It might have paid off as Price stopped 26 shots in his first game as the #1 goaltender. He will have to step up tonight however as in his only other start versus the Sabres he gave up three goals and made 28 saves in a 4-2 loss on Nov. 23 in Buffalo. Buffalo certainly seems to be able to carry hot streaks into multiple games as they are 14-5 ATS after a win by 2 goals or more this season but the Sabres will have to get a better performance out of goalie Ryan Miller as they are only 1-6 ATS in home games after a game where both teams scored 4 goals or more over the last 2 seasons.
