 Across the continent, the Buffalo Sabres host the Washington Capitals. BetOnline.com has the Buffalo Sabres at -130 favorites against the Washington Capitals +110 with the over/under set at 6 goals. The Sabres have a shot at a playoff spot, but after going 4-5-1 in their past 10 games, the situation is growing dire.Philadelphia had a six-point lead over Buffalo heading into Monday's action and the Sabres have lost their past two games. Both losses came at home, although Buffalo was playing two tough teams in Montreal and Detroit. Still, the Sabres can't just keep pace with the Flyers; six points is a lot to make up with few games remaining. Ryan Miller has been a workhorse in net, starting 15 straight games. Miller has been as solid as ever this year, but he might have to start stealing games. Washington has almost no shot to catch Philadelphia, but the Caps could still steal the Southeast Division from Carolina. Washington trails the Hurricanes by five, by those teams face off twice more this year, which could drastically alter the standings. In the meantime, the Capitals should turn to goalie Cristobal Huet. Huet shut out the New Jersey Devils in his first game as a Capital after being acquired from Montreal last week. Oddly, Olaf Kolzig was given the start in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Toronto. But Huet should be between the pipes against Buffalo. The Sabres have owned Washington this season, winning all three games in the season series thus far. That was before the Capitals picked up Huet, though, and he could make the difference.
