The Bruins have a 2-0 lead heading into Philly where Boston has won three of their last four games there. In Game 2 they got goals from Johnny Boychuk and Miroslav Satan, while Milan Lucic scored the game-winner with less than three minutes remaining in the third period. Goalie Tuukka Rask stopped all five shots he faced in the third period and got the win by making a total 24 saves. Overall Rask is 6-2 with a 2.31 GAA as a playoff rookie. This was the Bruins' fifth consecutive home playoff victory and they’ve won two of four playoff road games. The Bruins are among the elite eight in scoring during these playoffs, averaging three goals a game. That's quite an improvement as the Bruins finished last in offense during the regular season with a 2.39 goals-per game average. "I'm not going to lie, it's nice to see that we are getting those breaks at the end of games and scoring those winning goals," Bruins captain Zdeno Chara said. "We didn't get those breaks during the regular season, so it's nice to get them now." Forward Miroslav Satan extended his points-scoring streak to five games (4 goals, 8 points) which is his best postseason output since 2001. Satan has 23 points in 23 playoff games against Philadelphia. The Bruins are 20-6 all-time when leading a best-of-7 series 2-0.
The Flyers had goals from Mike Richards and Daniel Briere, but couldn’t muster up anything after the second period. Goalie Brian Boucher kept his team in it by stopping 24 of 27 shots, but couldn’t make the last save with 3 minutes till overtime. Boucher is 4-3 with a 2.21 GAA with one shutout. The Flyers are glad to be playing on home ice where they won all three playoff games. If the Flyers are to have any success against the Bruins, they'll need to convert with the man advantage. They finished 0-for-4 on the power-play on Monday and made 2-of-5 in Game 1. Monday’s game was the first playoff game where they were scoreless on the powerplay. In addition to their power-play woes, the Flyers haven't held a lead in their series with Boston. The Flyers are 2-3 when allowing the first goal in these playoffs. "It's more frustrating when you're always playing from behind," Flyers forward Danny Briere said. "You're always trying to get the lead. We have to find a way to score that first goal. I thought we played better in the first period, but once again, just that lack of attention for two seconds off a face off and it's in the back of our net." Briere has nine points in his last four games, including a goal and an assist in each of the first two games in this series. Mike Richards had three points in Game 1 and a goal in Game 2. The Flyers are 2-12 in series in which they have lost the opening two games.
