The Flyers were down 0-3 in the best of seven series and came back in Game 4 with a thrilling 5-4 overtime win, at home The Flyers were glad to have Simon Gagne back as he proved to be the difference in Game 4. Just 14 days removed from having two screws surgically implanted in his right foot, Gagne scored his first goal of this year's playoffs on his only shift of overtime.  Defenseman Matt Carle became the first Flyer to record four assists in a playoff game and Brian Boucher made 33 saves, nine in OT, in a game the Flyers never trailed after the first period. Now to force a Game 7 all they need to do is win two, in Boston, where the Flyers haven't celebrated a playoff win since May 4, 1976. Two of the first playoff games against Boston were one goal losses, so they can win, with some hard fought hockey. The Flyers are now 5-4 in playoff elimination games decided in overtime. "History shows it's a tough road (coming back from an 0-3 deficit), but we certainly feel good about the way we played," Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said. "We played good games in Boston. They could have gone either way. We felt like we heavily out-chanced them in Game 3 but didn't get the result we were looking for. You find yourself down, 3-0, there aren't many teams that have come back from that. So, the pressure when you win a game, after one game it shifts a little bit to them because they're supposed to close the deal. We're looking forward to the game, going to Boston and playing a really good hockey game and see if we can get it back to our building. The longer a series goes when you're up, and that's what the players were talking about, the more of a burden that becomes."

The Bruins are 16-0 in series when leading 3-0 , and despite the loss on Friday in Game 4, there was a lot to like about how the Bruins came back on two separate occasions to tie the game, after falling behind 3-1 and 4-3. Recchi scored twice, including the goal that sent the game into overtime with just 31.5 seconds remaining in regulation. Recchi has 6 goals and 9 points in 10 playoff games this season and has 56 goals for his career. Tuukka Rask made 29 saves in a losing effort and is 5-4 with a 2.43 GAA. Milan Lucic is playing great hocking, both hitting and scoring. He has a five-game points streak, notching 2 goals and 6 points over that span.
