The Flyers came in to the playoffs as a seventh seed and they’ve defied all odds, having given themselves a chance to raise the Cup. They’ve ended a 13-year drought between Stanley Cup Final appearances, as the Flyers were willing to pay any price to assure a date with the Western Conference's Chicago Blackhawks. "You put your body on the line, whether it's finishing hits, blocking shots, and we've done a great job of that so far in this playoffs, and I think it's shown with the victories," Flyers captain Mike Richards said. Since the Flyers rallied back from a 0-3 deficit to the Boston Bruins, they’ve been superb, almost destined to win. "I think this team is a team of destiny," the owner proclaimed. "This team has shown more guts, more gumption, and more heart than almost any team I've ever seen in my life, in any sport. The story of this team is unbelievable. Everything they've done has been incredible. You just can't ever count 'em out." Can this team of destiny upset the Blackhawks, the No. 2 seed in the West? Better yet, do the Flyers' players believe what their owner believes? "I don't know … it's tough to say right now," Philadelphia captain Mike Richards said. "We have a great team. We have a lot of belief in our team. When the chips have been down, it seems like we get better and obviously, we play well as a team. "We're fully confident. I don't want to say destined or anything, but we have a great team. We feel we have a good chance, obviously; and we're going to lay it all out there."

The Blackhawks were expected to be where they are, but can they finish the job? Chicago is coming off a sweep of the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference Final, which ended on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks are brimming with confidence after winning three road games at Vancouver's GM Place to bounce the Canucks. They found ways to beat the Sharks in four straight, despite trailing early in three of the games. They have great offense and goaltending with captain Jonathan Toews, goalie Antti Niemi and power forward Dustin Byfuglien battling it out to lead the race in many minds for the Conn Smythe Trophy.   "(My) confidence is really way up," said Byfuglien, who scored his eighth goal of the playoffs and third game-winner against the Sharks Sunday. "I wouldn't mind (the Cup Final) starting (now). Everything's going good right now."One possible downer is that only one of the Hawks have been to the Cup Final. Veteran center John Madden is the only player inside the 'Hawks room with multiple Stanley Cup titles (two with New Jersey).
