Be sure to get your 2009 Stanley Cup Finals: Detroit Red Wings vs Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction in now at Sportsbook.comThe Red Wings are dominating even without their top players Pavel Datsyuk and Kris Draper in the lineup. Game 2 goal scorers were Jonathan Ericsson, Valtteri Filppula and Justin Abdelkader. Goalie Chris Osgood was great making 31 saves for his fourth straight win and 14th overall in these playoffs. He currently has a 1.97 GAA after allowing 36 goals. It’s looking good for the Wings to get another Cup. Of the thirty-two times a team has won the first two games of the Stanley Cup final at home. Thirty-one times that team has won the Stanley Cup. They’ve outscored the Pens 6-2 and it’s going to get worse for the Pens. Wait till Datsyuk and Draper get back on the ice. The Pens showed frustration as they couldn’t get anything going or even get the puck on the net. First they have to get the puck to the net, but the Wings are the best team at blocking shots. Henrik Zetterberg and Nicklas Lidstrom are without a doubt the best at this. Then they have to beat arguably the hottest goalie in the playoffs, which they can’t do. On a good note they did outshoot the Wings in Detroit, which is rare. Their lone goal scorer was Evgeni Malkin who nailed his 13th goal. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stopped a low 23 shots and still let in three goals. Fleury has allowed six goals on 56 shots for a .892 save percentage that he knows won't cut it against the high-powered Red Wings. Sidney Crosby has been held without a point through two losing games of a Stanley Cup Final, someone suggested that his team would not only climb out of another 2-0 series hole but rebound to win the Cup. Yeah right! Recent Trends to Consider:
