After a marathon Game 5 in Detroit, the Penguins feel like they have the upper hand in tonight’s Game 6 show down in Pittsburgh. But don’t forget that these are still the same Red Wings that are offensive power houses and the top defenders in the league. Detroit leads the Cup Finals 3-2. Oddsmakers at SBGglobal.com have Detroit as -135 moneyline favs over the Pittsburgh +115 with the over/under set at 5 goals. Get your Stanley Cup Finals Prediction in now at SBGglobal.com

The Red Wings thought they had it won as the Cup was being prepped and shined ready to be handed over to the Wings. But a late goal with 35 seconds left in the 3rd period changed everything. It took three overtime periods before the Pens Petr Sykora banged in the winning goal. It wasn’t that the Wings were slacking off, it was the penalties that were handed to them. They had two goalie interference calls and a high sticking penalty, which led to the winning goal. The goalie interference calls were absolute B.S., it’s overtime players crash the net , that’s how the game is played in overtime. There should be NO penalties in O.T. unless they are blatant. The Wings are 7-4 SU on the road where they average 3.09 GAG. They closed out Nashville, Colorado and Dallas on the road and the only bad thing for the Wings tonight is that they won’t be able to raise the Cup on home ice in front of their fans. But they will lift the Grail tonight.

The Pens biggest reason for their win was the outstanding goaltending of Marc-Andre Fleury and the lucky penalty calls against Detroit. Fleury was flopping like a fish out of water every time the Wings came crashing the net.  The Pens had little offense from the third period on. They got a lucky break and everyone and their dog favors the Pens just because their at home. Well not this guy! The Pens are 10-1 SU at home where they’ve averaged 3.36 GAG. But their last home game against Detroit was a must win, and guess what, they lost. When the pressure is on at home they flounder. The Pens are going to get the full force of the Red Wings tonight.
