The Detroit Red Wings can win their fifth Stanley Cup, in 11 years, tonight, Tuesday June 9, with a win in Pittsburgh over the Penguins. The very same scenario played out last year in the Finals where Detroit outplayed the Penguins in their building and, in the final indignity, paraded with the Stanley Cup on the same ice where Mario Lemieux once played. NHL oddsmakers at SBGglobal.com have the Penguins as -120 moneyline favs over the Red Wings (+100) with the over/under posted at 5.5 goals. They got goals from Daniel Cleary, Valtteri Filppula, Niklas Kronwall, Brian Rafalski and Henrik Zetterberg. Goalie Chris Osgood was great stopping all 22 shots to get his second shutout of these playoffs. "It's obviously a special night when you know you have a chance to win the Cup in one single hockey game," goalie Chris Osgood. The Wings are sure glad to have two-way star Pavel Datsyuk's back after missing seven playoff games with a foot injury as he gave them a big lift in Game 5. They have players who are stepped in playoff experience. Nicklas Lidstrom, Kris Draper, Tomas Holmstrom and Kirk Maltby played on all four Red Wings Stanley Cup winners since 1997, and they can make it five tonight. None of those previous four finals went to a Game 7. The Wings are 4-5 on the road in the playoffs. The Penguins could stop the offense of the Wings as goalie Marc-Andre Fleury allowed five goals on 21 shots before he was pulled for Mathieu Garon who stopped all eight shots in 24 minutes of the remainder of the game. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin and Marc-Andre Fleury still have a sour taste in their mouths after watching the Wings raise the Cup in front of your hometown fans, family and friends. "We don't want that image in our heads again," Penguins forward Max Talbot said Monday. Even if the Pens do win tonight, they must go back to Detroit and inhospitable Joe Louis Arena, where they have been outscored 10-2 while losing three games and, at times, their tempers. Crosby is second best with 31pts in the Pens playoff race, but he’s been held to 3pts in five games thanks to the defensive combination of Henrik Zetterberg, Lidstrom and Brian Rafalski. One more loss and the Penguins' season is over. "I think we're going to bounce back," Crosby said. "We have all year. We weren't happy with that effort, but we've moved on. The Pens are 8-2 at home in the playoffs. Recent Trends to Consider:
