However, they didn’t seem happy with that performance as they were very active in the off season as they acquired center Chris Thorburn from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 2007 third-round pick; acquired right wing Jesse Schultz from the Vancouver Canucks for defenseman Jimmy Sharrow; acquired a conditional 2008 first-round pick from the St. Louis Blues. So far all these moves don’t seem to have paid off as they are only 15-17-0-1 on the season and rank last in defense in the NHL.
