The Anaheim Ducks and Ottawa Senators play Game-4 of the Stanley Cup finals tonight on the Senators home ice at Scotiabank Place. After dropping the first two games of the Stanley Cup final against the Ducks, the Senators responded with an energetic effort in Game-3 winning 5-3 on Saturday. Tonight, the Senators look to tie the series at 2-2. Both teams will be playing without key team members. Ducks alternate captain Chris Pronger has received a one-game suspension for his elbow on Senators forward Dean McAmmond in Game-3. McAmmond sustained a head injury and will be held out of tonight’s game as a precautionary measure.
“We’re obviously excited,” Senators center Mike Fisher said. “We knew we’d get a boost being back home in front of our fans. Before the game (Game-3) we could hear them going nuts. We were confident. We knew we could put out a good effort and beat this team. Another win and we’re right back in it.”
Oddsmakers at most online sportsbooks favor the Senators in Game-4. Betus.com shows the Senators a -210 money line (ML) favorite while the Ducks are getting +170 ml juice as the road underdog. The game total is holding at five (5). On totals betting, the OVER is favored with cost of -130 while the UNDER will pay +110 if it cashes.
Early betting trends show 66 percent of the public likes the OVER 5 on the total and a narrow majority (51 percent) prefers the Senators on the ML.
I like Ottawa to even up the series tonight and don’t be surprised if the total goes UNDER as it has in the Senators last six home games. Ottawa has won five of its last six games on home ice and should pull this one out tonight.
