Homeboykris 2010 Kentucky Derby Odds: Despite Homeboykris’s nine week layoff, Trainer Rick Dutrow claims he hasn’t altered his training style to prepare for the 2010 Kentucky Derby. Online racebook BODOG.com had listed Homeboykris 60 to 1 odds to win the 2010 Kentucky Derby.
Homeboykris, winner of the Grade 1 Champagne at 2 and currently 20th on the 
graded earnings list for the Kentucky Derby, worked six furlongs in 1:14 at Gulfstream Park on Wednesday.
Trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. said, “The rider said he went good so we're good right now. We're just winging it with him at the moment. The weather has been bad down here but we had a chance to breeze him today so we breezed him." He added that he would like to work Homeboykris every six days leading up to the Derby but that would interrupt his flight schedule to Kentucky. Homeboykris is scheduled to arrive in Kentucky on Tuesday April 20th. "I'd like to breeze him here on the 20th, we'll just have to see how early the flight is," said Dutrow. "If he gets one more work here, he'll likely work just once more in Kentucky."
Homeboykris was bred in Maryland. A son of Roman Ruler, Homeboykris was purchased privately by a group headed by restaurateur Louis Lazzinnaro and turned over to Richard Dutrow for training. Dutrow is known for conditioning the Dual Classic winner Big Brown.
