Trainer Kenny McPeek says things seem to be heading in the rig
ht direction but he is still concerned with Noble’s Promise racing on May 1st. After the Arkansas Derby, the son of Cuvee had a lung infection and cuts on both legs even though he had an amazing workout. “That was a fantastic work he put in,” McPeek said. “He’s just so talented. But we’re still not fully committed to the race. We have another hoop or two we need to jump through before we make a decision.” McPeek said the fifth-place finisher in the Arkansas Derby would need to “keep eating well” and will likely work again early next week before a final decision is made. “I actually caught him a little faster,” McPeek said. “The way he worked we think he’s moving forward.” “It’s nothing major, it’s minor,” McPeek said. “But he needs to continue to move forward, continue to east well and scope perfect. With this kind of race, he has to be perfect.”
Noble’s Promise is second on the graded earnings list among Derby hopefuls with $738,000.
