o start at the Derby. There is a chance that he could be pushed out of the 20-horse field. It all depends on how many of Todd Pletcher ‘s horses win Saturday’s Derby Trial. The 20 horses with the most money earned in graded stakes races start in the Derby, and Paddy O’Prado, with $250,950, currently ranks 19th among colts.
Jerry Crawford, head of the Donegal Racing partnership that owns Paddy O’Prado, said that he expects his colt to be in the field. Crawford said, “I’m very confident. I think Interactif is doubtful. I would be pretty surprised.”
Todd Pletcher has until April 28th to make his final decision on who’s racing and who isn’t. In the meantime, Paddy O’Prado is ready to give it his all in the 2010 Kentucky Derby on May 1st.
